Take your fundraising to new heights - literally - by joining Norfolk and Waveney Mind for our Annual Tandem Skydive at Beccles Airfield on Sunday 20th September!
Feel the rush of leaping 13,000 feet through open sky, knowing every second of adrenaline helps make sure no one in Norfolk and Waveney faces a mental health problem alone.
Whether you’re taking part in memory of a loved one, challenging yourself to step outside your comfort zone, or simply seeking an unforgettable adventure, your fundraising has real impact. By joining our skydive team, you're helping us deliver vital mental health services across Norfolk and Waveney - supporting people when they need it most.
Your bravery in the air supports the bravery of those reaching out for help back on the ground.
Can I skydive while pregnant?
Unfortunately, you can’t skydive while pregnant. If you become pregnant after booking, you can postpone your jump until six months after your due date.
Do I need to pre‑book?
Yes. Pre‑booking is essential as the airfield is extremely busy and sessions often fill up fast.
How long does the experience take?
Please allow around half a day for your experience.
You’ll find your arrival time in your booking confirmation. After checking in, you’ll complete some paperwork, attend your safety briefing, get into your gear, and then it’s time to fly!
Spectators should arrive with you, and friendly dogs are welcome on leads.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable shoes that won’t fall off (trainers are ideal) and casual or sports clothing.
It gets colder at altitude, so we recommend bringing an extra warm layer. Goggles are provided, and branded hoodies can be bought onsite if needed.
Is there a weight limit?
Yes — strict weight limits apply depending on the jump type, and no exceptions can be made.
Are there any physical requirements?
You must be able to lift your legs in front of you for landing.
BMI restrictions apply (maximum 39.0–39.9).
If you have a chronic health condition, you may need a doctor’s certificate.
People with limited mobility may still be able to jump after an assessment with the Chief Instructor.
Is there an age limit?
The minimum age is 16, with parental or guardian consent required for anyone under 18.
There is no upper age limit as long as you are healthy and physically able.
Can I wear glasses or contact lenses?
Yes — goggles that fit over glasses or contacts will be provided.
Can our group share one video?
No. Each tandem instructor films their own jumper for safety reasons, so group videos aren’t possible.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Skydiving is weather‑dependent. If conditions aren’t safe, your jump may be delayed or rescheduled.
Do I need to pay anything to take part?
Yes — a £50 deposit is required when registering. This secures your place and shows your commitment to meeting the fundraising target.
Why is there a £500 fundraising minimum?
The £500 target covers the cost of your skydive.
This ensures charity funds continue supporting mental health services, rather than being used to subsidise places. Reaching the target means your jump has maximum impact.
What happens if I raise more than £500?
That’s fantastic! Anything above £500 goes directly towards helping more people across Norfolk & Waveney who need mental health support. There’s no upper limit.
What happens if I don’t reach £500?
We will approach this on a case by case basis. If you don’t reach the minimum target, you unfortunately won’t be able to jump.
We encourage you to start early, and we’re here to help with fundraising ideas and guidance.
Is the £50 deposit refundable?
No - the deposit is non‑refundable and non‑transferable, even if you withdraw or don’t reach the fundraising target. This deposit does however count towards your £500 fundraising target.
Can I top up the remaining fundraising amount myself?
No. To keep the event fair and consistent for everyone, the £500 must be raised through fundraising only.
How do I set up my fundraising page?
We’ll send you a fundraising welcome pack with everything you need — including step‑by‑step instructions for creating your online giving page and tips for reaching your target. You can set up your page here.
Are there any eligibility or health requirements?
Yes — you must meet all requirements set by UK Parachuting, including:
Minimum age of 16
Weight and BMI limits
Ability to lift your legs for landing
Medical sign‑off if needed
These are included in your event pack and must be met in order to jump.
What if the weather is bad on the day?
If conditions aren’t safe, UK Parachuting will reschedule your jump.
Your place and fundraising will automatically roll over to the new date.
Can friends and family come to watch?
Absolutely! Spectators are very welcome - it’s a great day out. Dogs can join too, as long as they stay on a lead.
Is photo and video footage available?
Yes — optional photo/video packages are available to purchase directly from UK Parachuting on the day.
