Welcome to Norfolk and Waveney Mind

We won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect.

We’re Norfolk and Waveney Mind, the mental health charity that believes no one should have to face a mental health problem alone.

We work to reduce the stigma associated with mental health, support people in their recovery and champion better services for all.

We believe that with the right support and resources everybody can create a life that feels meaningful irrespective of the presence of symptoms.

To do this we share our own stories, insights and expertise.

Walk together to help prevent suicide

We are inviting you all to put your best foot forwards and set yourself a walking target- anything from a mile to anything over 10 miles across the 10th September- 13th September 2020. Mark World Suicide Prevention day and raise funds for our suicide prevention and bereavement services.

You can walk on a treadmill watching your favourite film, march up and down your stairs, stomp in the woods, amble along our beautiful coast or pound the pavement in your local neighbourhood. We are spoilt for choice for walking routes in Norfolk and Waveney.

All fundraising goes towards our Lighthouse, SAIL and Anchor Projects. By walking together to prevent suicide you are enabling us to work together to prevent suicide.

Happy Pride Week!

We know that love, tolerance, respect and visibility are great for our mental health. That's why we're proud to support the LGBTQ+ community and Virtual Norwich Pride on Saturday 25th July 2020.

The peak of the coronavirus pandemic may have passed, but we’re now experiencing a mental health emergency.

More than 16,000 people told leading mental health charity, Mind how the pandemic had affected their mental health. The findings are clear. Prioritising mental health has never been more critical.

Many of us are experiencing problems for the first time and those of us who were already struggling are finding things even harder. Our health and social care services are and will continue to be under pressure like never before. The devasting loss of life, the impact of lockdown, and the inevitable recession will have deep and lasting consequences on all our lives.

Those in power can make the right choices to rebuild services and support to help make sure the society that comes after the pandemic is kinder, fairer and safer. This can only be achieved if the UK Government meets Mind’s five tests for putting mental health at the heart of the new normal.

Now more than ever the nation’s mental health needs protecting. Join Mind’s campaign or find out more at www.mind.org.uk/fivetests

Mental Health Awareness Week
Festival of Kindness

We marked Mental Health Awareness Week in a special and somewhat different way this year. As this year's theme is 'kindness', we thought it would be brilliant to celebrate all that is kind, and the positive effects this can have on our mental health.

What better way than to celebrate with a VIRTUAL FESTIVAL taking over our social media? - particularly as lots of us are missing out on festivals this year!

We promoted the kindness message using a variety of festival-favoured content - think music, art, a family area, wellbeing and SOS 'tents' - all encouraging people to connect, keeping kindness in mind.

You can see the wonderful wealth of content we produced by clicking the 'Find out more' button below!
