Sarah Barker

Location: Sparham NR9

I work with adults who experience anxiety around loss which can include:
Loss of childhood, a loved one, an abuser, a home, of innocence, a job, of independence, a relationship, of self-worth/self-belief/self-esteem, of safety, of connection, of the life you thought you would have but didn't.

What would it be like to understand your anxiety? To quieten those intrusive thoughts, to understand and build a positive relationship with your feelings and reduce the physical response to them? What would it be like to know the root cause of your anxiety? To reduce its power so you can live your life with it rather than be governed by it.

By working together, we will develop a relationship that will allow us to safely explore what is going on for you now and how your past relationships and/or experiences may be impacting your present. We will look at reconnecting your mind with your feelings and your physical response to those feelings so you can become a more wholesome you. Your own curiosity of yourself can deepen this process, to allow the growth and change within you and develop the relationship with your anxiety, self and others.

I work in The Garden Room which is a calm and relaxing space in a quiet corner of our garden. I also offer walk and talk sessions around the village of Sparham.

Fees

Each session lasts for 50 minutes.
Our first introductory session is at the reduced price of £35.
Thereafter, the fee is £55.

Availability

Tuesdays 9am to 6pm

Joe Church

Location: Norwich

The way I work takes into account the whole of you – including the body and spirit. not just the thinking part of your personality.  My first aim is to assist in creating an atmosphere of non-judgment, authenticity, and deep acceptance, in which you can begin to relax and open up to yourself just as you are.  I will then invite you, in your own time, to get in touch more deeply with what is troubling you, so that you can begin to find clarity and make more sense of it all.  Through this fresh perspective insights can arise, awakening you to new possibilities. You may find that your energy returns, that your experience is transformed into something more manageable and workable, as you begin to see new and more fulfilling ways forward in your life.

If you are looking for someone who is not limited to just one school of psychotherapy, and if you are curious and committed to getting to the (sometimes painful) root of what is troubling you or holding you back in your life, then my way of working might suit you.

I use what is called an Integrative approach, combining an accredited training in Humanistic Counselling with influences from a wide variety of other therapeutic approaches (see long list on my website!). In addition to my training and experience working in private practice since 2008, I have during the past 30 years been consistently working through my own issues in a wide range of therapeutic settings. I consider this to be an essential part of what I can offer you as a therapist.

To get more of a feel for what it would be like being in therapy with me I suggest you take a look at my website.  If you feel drawn to find out more, do get in touch to explore further and get more of a sense of whether I might be the right kind of therapist for you.
