We're Norfolk and Waveney Mind, your local Mind mental health charity offering an extensive range of mental health services, along with associated training, support and information.

We offer a wide range of services including 1:1 talking therapies, REST drop in hubs, gardening projects, access to employment services, residential care and support programmes. Our services support young people aged 14-25, adults and carers affected by mental ill health.

Making change

We are actively working in our communities to raise awareness and challenge stigma and discrimination though our services, campaigning, events, and fundraising.

Your local Mind

We are an independent charity, raising our own funds and run by our own Board of Trustees. We do not receive any funding from national Mind - everything we raise locally, stays locally.

Being local, we understand our community and tailor our services in response to what people need most.

We work in partnership with Mind nationally and the other local Minds in our network to deliver high quality services to anyone who needs them.

Vision

No one faces poor mental health alone.

Mission

We work to reduce the stigma associated with mental health whilst providing high quality support to people, championing better services for all.

Mind Quality Mark

Norfolk and Waveney Mind has been awarded the Mind Quality Mark.
The Mind Quality Mark is a rigorous quality assurance standard. It sets the bar of good practice and legal compliance for all organisations in the Mind Federation.

Local Minds are reviewed against the Mind Quality Mark standards every three years. The reviews are led by people with lived experience of mental health problems and senior leaders from other local Minds. They are based on a robust assessment of documentary evidence as well as interviews with and survey responses from trustees, staff, volunteers, and people who use services.

To achieve the Mind Quality Mark, local Minds must be well-run organisations delivering safe, life-changing support for people with mental health problems.

Our Governance

We are governed, led and managed to the highest standards, ensuring compliance with quality, legal and safeguarding requirements in accordance with our Memorandum of Association and Articles of Association, Charity Commission and Company law.

We are here to support anyone and approach everything with an open-mind. We are fully committed to equality and diversity, both in our staff and the services we provide.

Everyone is treated with respect and kindness. We speak with honesty and awareness, and we value the lived experience.

Our commitment to mental health at work

Norfolk and Waveney Mind is committed to ensuring the wellbeing of our staff and volunteers. To demonstrate this we have signed the Mental Health at Work Commitment. We are utilising a collaborative approach to this framework to help monitor, support and improve mental health in our organisation. The framework is based on 6 core standards:

Standard 1: Prioritise mental health in the workplace by developing and delivering a systematic programme of activity.

Standard 2: Proactively ensure work design and organisational culture drive positive mental health outcomes.

Standard 3: Provide an open culture around mental health.

Standard 4: Increase organizational confidence and capability.

Standard 5: Provide mental health tools and support.

Standard 6: Increase transparency and accountability through internal and external reporting.

We look forward to progressing these standards over the coming year.

Norfolk and Waveney Mind is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040 for emissions scopes 1, 2 and 3.

Our aspiration is to achieve Net Zero ahead of this date, and we will record and track our emissions so that we can reduce our footprint over time to achieve this goal.

We will publish our Carbon Reduction Plan by 31 March 2025 that will identify the steps that we intend to take to deliver this ambition.

This commitment was made on 16 October 2024 by the Board of Trustees.
