What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness means to pay attention, non-judgementally and in the present moment and is a way of helping us work differently with challenges, as well as live life more fully.
It has benefits in all areas of life including in our relationships, at work and with our own wellbeing. With 10 years’ experience of delivering nationally evidenced mindfulness programmes, we can help you understand and experience these benefits!

Finding Peace in a Frantic World

This 8 -week course has been developed by Oxford Mindfulness Centre as a shortened adaptation of traditional Mindfulness-based programmes and for the first time, we have included a specific focus on its application in the workplace .  It follows the bestselling book Mindfulness: Finding Peace in a Frantic World, and offers:
- Simple and effective tools for managing stress, low mood and other day to day workplace challenges differently
- Ways of developing more mindful communication, improved relationships and greater clarity and focus 
- Practical strategies for self-care, unlocking the capacity for appreciation and enjoyment, and cultivating creativity and resilience

Self-compassion for the Caring Professions

Explores the role of mindfulness approaches in preventing compassion-fatigue and burnout.

Kickstart your Practice

Mindfulness for Wellbeing

This 9-session Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy course is NICE approved to prevent relapse into depression and is known to help many conditions such as chronic fatigue syndrome, anxiety and stress.

Mindfulness and Self-Compassion Taster

join us for this FREE live online mindfulness taster session. In this one hour session we will explore what mindfulness is and how it can help us in our daily lives. Also pick up some handy techniques you can use straightaway to bring more calm and kindness to life.

Mindful Self-Compassion

This 8 week course will allow you to learn how to stop being so hard on yourself and motivate yourself with encouragement, rather than self-criticism.

- Respond to feelings of failure or inadequacy with self-kindness.

Nurturing Parents

This eight-week, family friendly, mindfulness course, designed by the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice at Bangor University, supports parents and carers to incorporate mindfulness and self-compassion into family life
• Learn to manage stress more effectively and increase your wellbeing 
• Discover how to stop beating yourself up for parenting/caring mistakes 
• Improve family relationships and communication
• Develop self-care, in order to better nurture your child / cared-for person

Mindfulness in Challenging Times

This course will focus specifically on how we can draw on mindfulness skills to help us adjust to a rapidly changing world, as we face ongoing pandemic, financial instability and the climate emergency. These challenges can bring huge anxiety and a sense of overwhelm in our day-to-day lives.

Drawing on the wisdom in the bestseller Active Hope, from the Work that Reconnects movement we will: 
• cultivate greater calm, appreciation and self-care, even in the midst of surrounding crisis
• explore a range of simple practices which help us thrive, with a sense of agency, in response to difficulty 
• re-discover our innate wisdom in the face of strong emotions 
• understand how we can transform fear, despair and anxiety to foster Active Hope

Tuesday Morning Mindfulness

Suitable for anyone who has previously attended an 8-week mindfulness course or already has a good foundation in mindfulness practice.

Parents Practice Group

This is a space for parents and carers to practice together, with the shared understanding that home life interruptions from our children/cared for may happen and are welcomed.

Home Retreat Half Day

Bring peace and stillness into your home with our upcoming Mindfulness retreat.  These retreats can radically transform our experience of being at home, as well as helping us feel more “at home” in ourselves!

Join us for these mornings of practice, drawing on mindfulness, appreciation, and self-compassion traditions. These include elements of stillness and gentle movement (optional).
Retreats are ideally suited to those who have attended a mindfulness course previously, or have a solid grounding in mindfulness practice.
