What is REST in the Community?
 
The REST hub will offer immediate and open access;
 
  • Emotional support will be accessible where people feel unable to cope and need immediate support;
  • ​Where crisis and significant need is presented, the hub will ensure the individual is kept safe and supported to access appropriate health and social care services.
Who is REST in the Community for?

Are over 18 years old;
 
  • Are willing to engage with the evening sanctuary service and has provided verbal consent to share information;
  • Have a high level of crisis/distress that requires support to stop escalation of need and further deterioration of the persons wellbeing;
  • Are in a position where they feel unable to cope and need immediate support;
  • Have no access to immediate support networks, such as, family or friends;
  • May be experiencing suicidal thoughts of self-harming and do not feel safe;
  • May be experiencing suicidal thoughts and have some level of planning, but with no evidence of imminent intent to act on these. The service user does not feel “safe”;
  • May be hearing voices but have adequate insight in order to engage with the team;
     
How do I access REST in the Community?

Appropriate referrals are made to other agencies where it would support the person with their presenting issue(s). Consent is gathered from them for all referrals and this is noted on Norfolk and Waveney Mind’s Client Management System. You can self-refer or be referred by any Mental Health Professional or your GP.
 
How can I find out more about REST in the Community?

Call us on 0300 330 5488 option 1 or email rictriage@norfolkandwaveneymind.org.uk where you will be met by a Recovery Triage Operator who will provide you with further information about this service.
