Norwich-based Legal Technology Specialists Raffle Extra Day Off Work For Charity

The IT firm, based at The Henderson Business Centre, offered staff a chance to win an extra day’s holiday by purchasing tickets for a charity raffle draw. To add to the raffle’s appeal, the holiday up for grabs was the 21st of June (the Summer Solstice) which is the longest day of the year. The raffle raised over £100, with all proceeds donated to Norfolk and Waveney Mind, Tiger Eye’s charity of the year.

A new project has been launched to address rising climate anxiety in students at the University of East Anglia.

At the opening in Norwich, students told BBC News they felt hopelessness, anger and despair about climate change.
They worry how they will live in a world with an unpredictable climate and the destruction of nature.

Local mental health charity, Norfolk and Waveney Mind, has announced a series of support groups for anyone over 18 who has been bereaved by suicide.
 
The Anchor Project, which is an 8-week support group is one of the projects provided by the Charity’s Complex Bereavement Service.  This service is supported by Norfolk County Council’s Public Health Department and Norfolk Clinical Commissioning Group and has been created as a result of a great need for suicide prevention and complex bereavement support in Norfolk and Waveney.

Local Mental Health Charity helps to connect people with nature for better wellbeing

Nature Connect aims to support people (over 18 years old) struggling with or at risk of low to moderate mental health conditions, in particular as a consequence of COVID, to become more resilient through contact with nature. This community project will take place in partnership with Norfolk Library Service, Norwich FarmShare, Bread Kitchen in Great Yarmouth and Gardening for Health allotments in Kings Lynn.

Norfolk County Football Association has today announced Norfolk and Waveney Mind as its official charity partner for the next three seasons.

Preparations are underway for the Governing Body’s annual Volunteer Awards, which takes place later this week. The event which was postponed last year due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, will see two seasons of awards presented and the Charity partnership formally launched in front of all in attendance, including special guest and Norwich City Hall of Famer, Darren Eadie.

Left Field FC is a fully affiliated FA football club founded by friends and football fans, Fiona Burrage and Monica Cass. Actively competing in the NWGFL 7-a-side league, the club promotes participation for all – welcoming men and women for a laugh, a stretch, a kick and, occasionally, a socially-distanced pint.

Two local charities partner to inspire more people to connect with nature for mental wellbeing

Local mental health charity, Norfolk and Waveney Mind, is delighted to announce a 2 year partnership with the Zoological Society of East Anglia (ZSEA), the charity behind Banham Zoo in Norfolk and Africa Alive in Suffolk.  This announcement coincides with the start of Mental Health Awareness Week, which takes place from the 10th to the 16th of May.
