2020 has been a tough year for many, with health worries, separation from friends and family, and financial uncertainty all impacting on our mental health and wellbeing. Norfolk and Waveney Mind has launched its ‘Counselling for Christmas’ appeal to help someone experiencing poor mental health to get the support they need, when they need it.
A £20 donation will pay for someone on a low income to have a 50-minute session with Norfolk and Waveney Mind’s counsellors and start to look forward to a brighter future.
Counselling offers “a relationship based on honesty, empathy and acceptance in which to explore, change and grow,” according to Sarah Jones, Low-cost Counselling Clinical Lead at Norfolk and Waveney Mind.
It makes a real difference to the lives of people like Izzy, whose counsellor “gave me a safe supportive space and helped me to move forward by seeing the world through my eyes”.
Private counselling can be expensive, making it inaccessible for many people – but your donation can help break down that barrier.
The donation can be made as a gift on a loved one’s behalf, and you will receive a postcard or downloadable e-certificate which you can pass to the recipient to let them know how they are helping to support the mental health of people in Norfolk and Waveney.
