Winter Wellbeing Day to shine a light on ways to protect mental health
Norfolk and Waveney Mind will be highlighting ways we can all look after our mental health through the colder months with a Winter Wellbeing Day on Monday, January 18th.

The event starts at 11am with a blues-busting online session of Laughter Yoga - the practice of intentional laughter, which is just as good for your mood and body as spontaneous laughter - in a free session led by qualified practitioner Mand Black.

Through the day our website and social media channels will share ideas and resources to support mental health through the winter.

These include ways to stay connected with other people, get active in your local area or at home, and practise mindfulness - meaning to pay attention and live in the present moment rather than dwell on past regrets or future fears.

Ruth Taylor, Mindfulness Manager at Norfolk and Waveney Mind, said: “Mindfulness is a really useful technique that’s proven to help us cope with challenging situations and live life to the full.

“We’ll be sharing easy tips for including mindfulness in your daily routine this winter, and for those who’d like to learn more we have a range of online courses on offer that can help you feel the benefits of mindfulness in your home, family or workplace.”
