Quiz raises £5,000 for Norfolk and Waveney Mind Charity
A fundraising charity quiz, hosted by energy consultants Indigo Swan, has raised an impressive £5,000 for an inspirational Norfolk charity.
More than 165 guests attended the evening in aid of Norfolk and Waveney Mind, a charity who offer advice and support to those affected by mental health problems.
James Groves, Managing Director at Indigo Swan commented: “To see what started as a quiz by candlelight in a restaurant in Norwich with 30 people 5 years ago, grow to the amazing event we had last week is amazing! The support we see from the local business community grows every year and the impact it has on Norfolk & Waveney Mind is so rewarding to see.
The event took place at EPIC Studios on Wednesday 6th November and marked the quiz’s fifth anniversary. It brings the total figure raised by Indigo Swan for the charity up to an incredible £17,000!
Alexandra Haswell, Fundraising and Campaigns Manager at Norfolk and Waveney Mind said: “We are so grateful to the hard work that Indigo Swan put in to such a fantastic quiz this year and for their support over the last five years. The money they have raised is vital to helping us continue supporting people in the Norfolk and Waveney area and raising awareness to continue to reduce the stigma associated with mental ill health.”
Indigo Swan, who recently won the regional ‘Workplace Wellbeing’ British Chambers of Commerce Business Award, also used the occasion to celebrate the company’s 10th birthday.
“To raise £5000 this year for a charity that is so close to all of the Swans hearts and to know the impact it has on lives all around the county and beyond is something myself and the Swans are extremely proud of. Indigo Swan has always wanted to give something back. The money we have raised over the last few years has enabled Norfolk & Waveney Mind launch their suicide bereavement service which recently received Public Health funding” said James.

The night included a raffle and silent auction with prizes being kindly donated by businesses and the local community including Redwell beers and brewery tour, a day’s free Barnes Brinkcraft boat hire and an aeroplane flight for 2 over East Anglia.
Hayley Leech, Head of Finance at Indigo Swan commented: “We set ourselves an ambitious target of raising £5,000 at our charity quiz this year and everyone in the nest is so thrilled that we achieved it. It wouldn’t have been possible without the help and generous support from local businesses. The number of fantastic prizes kindly donated each year amazes me. A massive thank you to everyone involved, whether you supported us before or during the night.”
“We all know someone who suffers from poor mental health and I’m so proud that our events help to fund the wonderful work Mind does every day in providing support to those in need” Hayley continued.
R13 Recruitment, whose team name was ‘The Lucky 13’, were crowned the winners on the night with Naked Marketing coming in close second and the team from Revolution de Cuba in third.
