The Festival of Kindness organised by Norfolk and Waveney Mind during lockdown has been recognised with a nomination for the British Chambers of Commerce’s UK Business Heroes Awards 2020.
Norfolk Chambers of Commerce nominated the free virtual festival, which took place at the height of lockdown during Mental Health Awareness Week, 18
th to 24
th May.
Embracing this year’s campaign theme of kindness, Norfolk and Waveney Mind turned over its social media platforms to host the festival, which helped to connect people through music, art, food, poetry and more, whilst celebrating all things kind and the positive effects this can have on our mental health and wellbeing.
A spokesperson from Norfolk Chambers of Commerce said: “We want to celebrate the dedication and effort of companies that have gone above and beyond to help others during the pandemic.
“We have been so proud of the kindness and spirit within the Norfolk business community, and we want to recognise your recent exceptional community efforts during the lockdown and pandemic.
“The ‘Festival of Kindness’ is a brilliant initiative to get people thinking and talking about mental health and the importance of it.”
