Mind Low Cost Counselling service referrals are closed until August
Unfortunately all of our appointments are fully booked at the moment, so we can’t take LCCS referrals during July.
When we re-open for referrals we will be able to offer a mix of either online and face to face counselling sessions (at both of our Norwich venues). Face to face sessions will only be available during office hours. We will continue to offer online sessions for evening appointments.
What is counselling?
There are lots of different types of counselling, which use different styles and techniques to help you, but they all have the same goal: helping you feel better able to cope with your emotions and the things that happen in your life. Norfolk and Waveney Mind offers a variety of counselling approaches including:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – CBT is a type of counselling that focuses on how your thoughts, beliefs and attitudes affect your feelings and behaviour, and teaches you coping skills for dealing with different problems.
Integrative Counselling – Integrative counselling takes the view that there is no single approach that can help each person in all situations. Your needs will be considered as a whole and counselling techniques are then tailored to the individual. These techniques can be drawn from other approaches including CBT and Person Centred.
Person Centred Counselling – Person Centred counselling is a type of counselling that works to understand an individual’s experience from their point of view. Person Centred Counselling lets you make sense of your own experiences and find your own solutions.
Our lower cost counselling service is staffed by volunteers who are either fully qualified or have had at least two years of training in counselling theory.
