Mind Low Cost Counselling service has gone online
We are still here to help during the virus - On-line or telephone counselling available now!
Our counsellors have taken a special course in online counselling and we are still here to help during this crisis. We can offer online and telephone counselling but we cannot see you face-to-face for the time being.
What is counselling?
There are lots of different types of counselling, which use different styles and techniques to help you, but they all have the same goal: helping you feel better able to cope with your emotions and the things that happen in your life. Norwich and Central Norfolk Mind offers a variety of counselling approaches including:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – CBT is a type of counselling that focuses on how your thoughts, beliefs and attitudes affect your feelings and behaviour, and teaches you coping skills for dealing with different problems.
Integrative Counselling – Integrative counselling takes the view that there is no single approach that can help each person in all situations. Your needs will be considered as a whole and counselling techniques are then tailored to the individual. These techniques can be drawn from other approaches including CBT and Person Centred.
Person Centred Counselling – Person Centred counselling is a type of counselling that works to understand an individual’s experience from their point of view. Person Centred Counselling lets you make sense of your own experiences and find your own solutions.
Our lower cost counselling service is staffed by volunteers who are either fully qualified or have had at least two years of training in counselling theory.
