The ASIST workshop provides training to help people to be suicide alert and identify people who have thoughts of suicide.
It will enable staff to: understand the reasons behind thoughts of suicide, help people to develop a plan to increase the safety of the person at risk of suicide, recognise invitations for help, recognise potential barriers of seeking help.
ASIST is a scientifically proven intervention model which uses audio-visual learning aids, group discussion and skills practice and development.
All participants also receive a certificate and a 20-page workbook, wallet card and stickers.
