What is Breathing Space?
Breathing Space is a community engagement project that primarily supports customers of Orbit housing association who are experiencing mental health issues. The focus is on mental wellbeing via support from recovery workers, and, where appropriate, fully trained volunteers to enable people to build connections and enhance their own sense of wellbeing. Breathing Space’s ultimate goal is to support individuals to take control of their own lives and feel empowered to contribute to their community and society.
"I look forward to this time every week when you call, it makes a lot of difference to me, knowing I can talk to you each week”
Who is eligible to access Breathing Space?
Orbit customers 18 years and older, living in Norwich, Broadland or Great Yarmouth who are experiencing low mood, anxiety, loss, feeling worried, lonely, isolated, or ‘not feeling quite right’, and are not currently receiving support from Mind services
We have limited spaces for other Norwich, Broadland or Great Yarmouth residents aged 18 years and older.
“This session has been really helpful and insightful. I don’t know how I would manage if I didn’t have you to talk to”

How do I access the service?
Anyone can refer a customer, with their consent, to the service, and customers can self-refer.
