Minds United Celebrate
Three local Mind mental health charities; Great Yarmouth & Waveney, Norwich and Central Norfolk and West Norfolk became one on 1st July as Norfolk and Waveney Mind.
Coming together, the charity will create a stronger, united voice for their beneficiaries, campaigning and advocating on a wider basis, enhancing service delivery and sharing good practice to further improve support across the whole of Norfolk and Waveney.
Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk, The Lady Dannatt MBE, Patron of Norfolk and Waveney Mind said: “I am absolutely delighted that the three separate local Mind organisations have come together as one single entity.  This will enable us to focus our time, energy and resources on those who need our assistance most, right across Norfolk and Waveney.”

Louise Jordan-Hall, Chair of The Board of Trustees at Norfolk and Waveney Mind, added: “Individually, we have developed and provided many great services. I truly believe that as a larger organisation we have the opportunity to continue to deliver local services and to help even more people in a way that is right for them to live safe, full and happier lives.

“We are extremely pleased to announce that we have appointed Philip Eke as the first Chief Executive for Norfolk and Waveney Mind, who brings with him empathy, passion, drive and a wealth of experience which will undoubtedly help us to achieve our vision.”

Commenting on taking up his new role as CEO at Norfolk and Waveney Mind, Philip Eke, said: “I am thrilled to be offered the opportunity to lead this wonderful Charity for which the predecessor organisations have provided support to so many in need over the last 50 years.

“During my time working at Mind, I have been humbled by the commitment and hard work of staff, trustees and volunteers and their passion for creating a truly person-centred approach to mental health support and recovery. I will strive to support a Norfolk and Waveney area which is a safe, secure and a supported place to live, where no one has to face a mental health problem alone and everyone receives the support and respect they both need and deserve.  I have witnessed time and time again the positive impact our work has on the communities we support, and I am honoured and privileged to be part of such a great team as we continue to improve people’s lives.”
