As you will know, the country is experiencing significant disruption due to the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), a flu-like illness which is very contagious.
This is going to impact on what we do and how we do it but we would first and foremost like to reassure you that we are doing absolutely everything we can to continue to provide safe and effective services for everyone we support across Norfolk and Waveney.
However, due to the challenges faced by restrictions from the Government on the movement of people around communities, we have, and may need to continue to, make some difficult decisions about some of the services we provide, activities we have planned and events we have booked.
With immediate effect, we have decided to cancel all Norfolk and Waveney Mind events and training courses until 30 April 2020, and we will continue to review on 6-week basis.
We are receiving regular updates from organisations who are hosting events in aid of our charity and will keep you posted as and when we receive these updates.
We are taking these extra precautions in order to minimise risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus, with particular concern for the vulnerable people that we come into contact with every day.
Please keep an eye out on our Facebook page and website for regular updates.
Coronavirus and your wellbeing
You might be worried about coronavirus (also known as COVID-19) and how it could affect your life. This may include being asked to stay at home or avoid other people.
This might feel difficult or stressful. But there are lots of things you can try that could help your wellbeing.
You will find below a link to Mind’s website where you will find information to help you cope if:
• you’re feeling anxious or worried about coronavirus
• you’re asked to stay at home or avoid public places, for example if your employer asks you to work from home
• you have to self-isolate. This means you avoid contact with other people and follow strict hygiene rules
